  • Language Server Protocol (LSP): The built in LSP has some improvements madeto support langauges such as PHP, Python and more. Enabled features such as code completion, diagnostic and jump to definition.
  • JavaScript refactoring: Javascript developers can now refactor their code, renaming functions and variables with scope awarness.

FEBURARY 3 2019 (Ver 1.38)

Updates

  • Shared Channels: Just like normal channels, only thing that seperates shared channels from normal channels is that they connect two seperate organizations together.
  • Screenshare improvement: Improved screenshare on windows for easier access to the live web browser server.
  • Code splitting: Implemented some code splitting to reduce required load and to keep ping lean and fast.
  • CPU and network improvement: Large servers perform better in general. CPU and network usage is about the same regardless of server size.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed:Fixed a bug where server folders didn't exist when you add more than 10 server folders.
  • Fixed: Improved ways to add user groups to channels.

  • Privacy Policy and tools: We're commited to helping teams around the world to work better, together. As part of the support changes to the EU data protection law, we updated our privacy policy and user terms. We also updated on our exported tools.
  • Audit logs: New API Method is avaible on the enterprise grid plan to help proactively protect an organization.
  • Admins channels: Workspace owners and Admins can delete public and private channels that are only for admin access.
  • Multiple encoding support: Ping now supports more than 40 different file encodings. You can now Open/Save files with different encodings.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed: Caption languages were displaying incorrectly, now you are able to see the caption language options along with your device language. We also made a few performance enhancements
  • Fixed: When using split view, new messages sync now better in open chat windows. Auto-answering works now better when the app was backgrounded on desktop.
  • Fixed: Improved server connection speed for download and upload speed, also increased relay of video screen sharing

  • Data residency now available in Paris and UK: With data residency for Ping, organizations can choose the region where certain types of customer data - like messages, files, etc - are stored at rest.
  • New ways to format your messages: Added new ways to format messages on desktop. With automatic formatting, you can see exactly what your messages look like before you send them.
  • Reverse Inspect: You and your web developer collaborator can now use reverse inspect in live preview, with seperate screens, as the changes will appear at real-time on browser.

  • Desktop calling: On desktop, when you start a call in a channel, with more than 50 people, you'll receive a message to confirm if you wish to proceed with this action before call starts.
  • Mute direct message: You can now mute direct messages the same way you mute channels for greater control of notifications.
  • Bookmarking: We added the ability to bookmark messages in conversations.
  • Screen sharing is also avaiable for video calls of people 5 or more.
